In the police force, "Death Investigation Extension" or "D.I.E." was established to accommodate those who have been sent away by their supervisors. As everybody knows, members of the Extension are to investigate unsolved cold cases. Yue Chi-Long (Roger Kwok), who has cracked a large number of difficult cases by extrasensory means, is assigned to the D.I.E. because his superiors find him strange for falling asleep constantly on the job. New appointee Ying Ching-Ching (Sonija Kwok) is a good-looking girl but she means to act tough and sassy in front of others. Believing that she will get promoted soon, she solves a lot of intriguing cases. Later Ying finds out that her supervisor still has a long way to go before he reaches retirement age. She takes an uncompromising stand over every case she deals with, which leads her into constant quarrels with Long. The relationship between the pair is deteriorating day after day.

Long's elder sister, Yue Chi-Ching (Margie Tsang), has been living with him. While investigating an old case, Long gets to find his long-lost father Yue Tai-Hoi (Bryan Leung). Through close collaboration with Long, Ching-Ching has gradually developed affection for him. As she is still torn between Long and her two-timing boyfriend Shing Ka-Tsun (Kenneth Ma), Long has started to try to avoid her without rhyme or reason. Feeling so confused about what is happening, Ching-Ching decides to do some probing and is shocked to discover that Long has been dogged by a female ghost called Siu Yi (Kitty Yuen).

Synopsis (from Wikipedia)

Having lost her father at an early age, farm security guard CHAN SAI-MUI (Yumiko Cheng) grew to be an outspoken and determined woman who would do her utmost to protect her home village. It is her sincerity that has won her respect from all villagers of the Leung Choi County. Sometimes she would get too enthusiastic and impulsive that she could bring about a lot of misunderstandings. Amusingly, she has mistaken the newly appointed agricultural official TSE WONG-SHEUNG (literal meaning "Thank you, Emperor") (Steven Ma) for a thief and the two of them have been bitter enemies ever since. To keep himself from any possible trouble, SHEUNG has been avoiding MUI intentionally.

For the benefit of his son's future, SHEUNG's father TSE CHONG-TIN (Ha Yu) has not only invited the intelligent TAI TSUNG-MAN (Wayne Lai) to be SHEUNG's assistant, but also found him four special bodyguards namely CHUK, FUN, MEAN, and FAN. Despite the best arrangements for SHEUNG, he still gets framed by the corrupted officials from Changsha and is in danger of facing the most torturing punishment. Luckily, MUI and MAN manage to save him in the nick of time with a jade bowl bestowed by the former emperor. To everyone's surprise, the jade bowl turns out a fake, but with MAN's wit and courage, SHEUNG is finally saved from danger. MUI has been through a lot together with SHEUNG and is starting to fall in love with him. SHEUNG, on the other hand, has no feelings for MUI and decides to turn to MAN for tips as to how to break away from her. Mysteriously, SHEUNG starts being pursued by a hitman soon afterwards.

Extraction

Went back for my 2nd appointment yesterday. Not knowing what to expect... I was nervous when the dentist said he'll do the extraction. 4th tooth from left and right...

I was given the choice to either extract 1 and go back some other day for the next 1 or both at one go. Since I thought, might as well get it done at one go than to suffer the same horror the next visit... I opted for both teeth to be extracted.

"Paiseh" to say, this was my first proper extraction... All my life, my teeth fall out on its own giving me nothing to benchmark against... So if you ask me... the entire experience was kinda weird...

The dentist jabbed the ceiling of my mouth near the tooth that he will be extracting... and I felt a sting... but nothing too unbearable... Then he told me to signal him should I feel any pain the minute he starts extracting... The nurse held my head in place while the dentist shaked the plier from left to right and back vigorously... and then "POP"... it was out... No pain... The same process was then repeated for the other one...

Unfortunately... it bled till 4am that night!!! Can you believe it??? It bled for nearly 10 HOURS wei!!! So... needless to say I was on MC the following day... To think that I nearly declined the MC that the dentist gave me... I must be mad!
