I had lunch with 2 of my new colleagues earlier. Technically, they are both not "new" cos they've been around for over a month (or longer I think), but anyhow, it was our first lunch together after a little bonding session at our agency's martini party yesterday. Talking bout martini, I had lycee, strawberry, coffee and peach martini yesterday... hehehe... and I like them all...

Back to the point. What was surprising was that one of them... could do palm reading and is apparently born with a veil!!! The Chinese believes that if one is born with the placenta covering their eyes, these people will be able to see "ghosts" later on!

So anyway, she said she likes me and thus will tell me more about myself... whopppeee... But guess what... I nearly fell off my chair after hearing the first thing she said!

• There are only 2 guys in your life and both will love you very much... You met your bf at a very young age. But he won't be the one you'll marry. Even if you guys ever do get married, you will leave him and be married off to another guy. The second guy is rich and handsome and will be able to provide everything you'll ever ask for... He'll be appearing in your life soon... At max by next year... O_o

Woahhh... really meh?

I watched the preview of "Transformer" yesterday...
Did I liked the movie? Hmmm... I don't really know...

On Story Line
I can't exactly remember the cartoon... as in what "Transformers" was all about... So to me, it was like watching it for the first time and so... the story line was ok la... Although, the movie was rather violent, there were several parts that were comical so I guess there was a good mix...

The cube... If I remembered correctly, in the cartoon, they have tonnes of rainbow looking cubes, but in the movie, there was only 1 cube and it looked rather ancient and was extremely huge in size... Honestly... till now I don't know what the cube was for... LOL...

The only thing I remembered clearly was the theme song but sadly it wasn't played up in the movie. They had other songs... from Linkin Park I think...

On the Robots... Or should I say Autobots?
To me, "Transformer" = "Bumblebee" (a cute yellow car) and "Optimus Prime" (a truck)... Only these 2 autobots rang a bell... the other characters seemed foreign to me...

On Actors / Actresses
I liked watching the teenage gal in the movie cos she was absolutely hot! The male soldier was very good looking and macho too but he wasn't the main cast. Other than that... OK ler...

Verdict
Would I watch it again? Of course NOT. But all my male colleagues said they MUST watch it again at IMAX for a better appreciation of the effects. So I guess, the movie was OK la and I think it would definitely appeal more to the guys than the gals... Me? I'd rather wait for Harry Potter :)

P.S. "Gu Gung Ki King" - the sound effect when the autobots transform! Muahahahaha...

I felt like I waded thru a puddle of muddy dirt the entire day only to complete the day realising that I was actually cleaning up other people's load which other people were "capable" of cleaning up themselves (given their own sweet time) and was totally out of my scope and definitely not something that is appreciated by my boss.

Did I do things right? Probably yes.
Did I do the right thing? Probably not.

Wasted so much time for nothing and in the end, I'm behind schedule for my own stuff.
Life seemed so complicated.
Even more so at work with tonnes of morons to deal with.
Then again, if everyone I deal with is a moron, perhaps I am too anal myself...
Or perhaps my expectations are far too high that it's just unrealistic?
My god... what a tiring day...

I know... this kinda contradicts everything that was said above but you know...
Positive thinking brings positive outcomes... so ya... life's great! :)

Off late, there has been an influx of immigrants from China... While it is bad to stereotype that all China-men are con artists and all China-women are escorts etc, that is exactly the sentiments of fellow Malaysians. But what surprised me most is the inability of these so-called local Malaysians to distinguish Malaysian Chinese and China Chinese.

Take the following encounters:

• Nearly 9 out of 10 times when we are stopped by police, the police would speak to my bf in BM while flashing his torchlight at me saying: "Moi, ada teng ki?" I supposed they think China-Chinese wouldn't understand what a "teng ki" is... And how do I respond to that? I'd say: "YA, SAYA SEMEMANGNYA ADA IC DAN INI DIA...". The stupid policeman would then smile sheepishly like an idiot!
• Then there was once a woman spoke to my bf in English but when she spoke to me, she switched to Mandarin. I was rather furious so I told her bluntly: "You can speak in English you know... I don't understand Mandarin" and left her starring at me blankly.
• Yesterday, Alan and I went to Petaling Street cos I was craving for the claypot rats tail noodle (nga pou lou shu fun) but becos we were rather early, we stopped at one of the restaurants for a drink and it happened again!!! The waiter spoke to my bf in Cantonese and spoke to me in Mandarin...

WAHHHHHH... Do I really look like a "Northern Mushroom" (pak ku)???

But when I went Beijing last year, all the locals there said I have big eyes and that is a characteristic that not many has in China... So there... to all you fellow morons out there... China-Chinese DO NOT have TUA LIAP eyes like mine... k... MORONS!!!

There's this ProJet that is located near my house. At the side of this ProJet, there's a McD (both the outlet and the drive thru). This morning, I went to the drive-thru section and placed an order for a McEgg. Years ago, I remembered it costing only 99sen or RM1.99. Today it costs RM3.50...

Why a McEgg? Becos hor... these days, I've been craving for EGGS...! This is rather strange, cos for as long as I could remember, I don't eat eggs at all. Even when I was a kid, my brother would be gorging himself silly with eggs but I wouldn't even touch it. But these days... I will be fighting to eat them... from sunny side up to scrambled to half boiled to Ramlee egg burger and now McD McEgg... I wonder if there's anything wrong with me...

So anyway, I ate my breakfast in the car and by the time I reached office, it was only 8.30am (work starts at 9am)... and I was in such a jovial mood. So ya... today's gonna be a great day! And ohhh... it's such a pleasure to eat in the jam... lalalalalala... you should try it yourself...

For those of you who knows me and have been to my house before, you would have noticed that I like to read. I used to read every night before I sleep but eventually I had to stop when I started working later and later each day.

I read a variety of books like murder series by J.D. Robb, romance series by Nora Roberts, ghost stories by Russel Lee, feng shui books by Lillian Too and Joey Yap and thoughts provocative ones like "Rich Dad Poor Dad", "Who Moved My Cheese", "In the Meantime" and etc. But the book I got last week was simply fantastic as it was not just enjoyable to read... but has somewhat summoned the power to bring me to a level of deep self realisation the instant I read it. This book is called "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne.

And since I would like to "remember to remember", I thought, what better way to remember than to record it on this blog... so ya, here are the summaries of the first few chapters (taken from the book) which I think are the most important:

Although not everyone would enjoy this book... (some would think that it's all about building castle in the air)... to me, I finally found an avenue to constantly remind myself to think positively. Today was the 2nd day I practiced the visualization technique and I'm happy to say that after months of being in depression, I'm beginning to see the little rays of light at the end of the tunnel! And really... there isn't any harm in trying something new... so I would sincerely like to recommend this book to everyone who wants to control the destiny of their lives.

Well, since I was so damn free today. I baked a cake. Yes ME... I baked a butter cake!!! Hoohooo....

Ingredients:

• 250g butter
• 210g Castor sugar
• 4 eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla essence
• 200g self-raising flour, sifted with 1/2 tsp salt

Recipe says:

• Cream butter and sugar until light and creamy.
• Fold in sifted flour gradually to mix. Finally stir in milk. Mix until well combined.
• Turn out mixture into prepared tin. Level out mixture at the sides but allow a shallow well in the centre. This is to enable the cake to level up evenly during baking.
• Grease and line a 20cm cake tin with greased greaseproof paper. Preheat oven to 170°C.
• Bake in preheated oven for 55–60 minutes or until cooked through when tested with a skewer.

What I did:

• Top [L] to [R] then Bottom [L] to [R]
• Cut butter cube into small tiny cube
• Measure the exact amount of sugar required
• Add it into the mix and blend
• Blend till creamy and whitish

• Top [L] to [R] then Bottom [R] to [L]
• Measure the exact amount of flour required
• Sift into mix and blend
• Add eggs one at a time
• Blend well after each addition until mixture is light and fluffy
• Add vanilla essence

• Top [L] to [R] then Bottom [C]
• Preheat oven to 170°C
• Then bake in preheated oven for 55 minutes
• Walla! Final product - a yummylicious butter cake

I'm so damn bored. Ever since my bf took over the business at his hometown, he has been extremely busy. Last week he wasn't around cos he was busy formatting the PCs and this week he wasn't around cos he just hired this Malay gal who is apparently so slow and dumb that he has to be around to make sure everything runs well.

I hate being an entrepreneur's gf. I fucking hate it. My family and my bf tells me that I should be understanding as start ups are often the toughest and sacrifices (of personal time especially) are unavoidable.

Ya... it's all fine and dandy once in awhile but bloody hell... I used to see him only on weekends, then it reduced to only Sundays cos he has to work on Saturdays and now I don't get to see him even on Sundays!!! The last time I saw him was for dinner on 27 May 2007 and that's like over 2 fucking weeks!!!

Sigh... Relationships can be so damn frustrating... While I told him that I understand and that he should concentrate in doing what he has to, deep down I feel disappointed and lonely. Fuck, I'm only human!!!

Yesterday a few of us left work at about 6.45pm to have a movie marathon. We started off with this movie called "Men in White" directed by this director called Kelvin Tong who was apparently a top Singapore horror film director who directed "The Maid".

Anyway, this movie deserved to be talked about because it was easily one of the top lousiest movie I have ever seen in my life. Ya, it was that bad. Let me tell you a bit more about the plot so that if you ever find yourself at the cinema wondering what movie to watch, you'd avoid this movie like a plague.

Being a human in Singapore is tough. Being a ghost is even tougher. This story revolves around five cowardly and clueless Singaporean ghosts: a badminton player (Shaun Chen), a gangster girl (Ling Lee), a housewife (Alice Lim) and two hip-hop rappers (Ben Yeung & Xavier Teo), Men In White tells of their misadventures as they stumble through the bizarre rules of ghost-hood. Trouble arrives in the form of a photographer ghost (David Aw) who joins out motley crew of undead and instigates them to wreak havoc on unsuspecting humans. The living fights back and our ghosts find themselves on the run and embarking unwittingly on a hilarious quest to strike fear into hearts of Singaporeans - a tribe more afraid of losing, failing and breaking rules than ghosts. So why does the movie deserve a NEGATIVE 5 star rating?

• There was at least 3 music videos in the movie where the ghosts rapped in English, Mndarin, Cantonese and Hakka. I mean... wtf??? Ghosts rapping and singing in multilingual???
• Non-stop invisible "lausai" - apparently ghosts can only eat rotten mandarin oranges and roasted pork day in day out. If they ever eat anything else like steam boat, satay etc, they'll "lausai" like mad buuuuuuut, ghosts have invisible "lausai" where in the movie, the camera zoomed into a clean toilet bowl!
• Repeated actions over and over again like how one of the ghosts called Ah Leng will kidnap unknown strangers from the street when he finds them "starring" at him. Then how the rest of the ghosts will put on their masks to apologize to the victim in Hakka - and really, when I say repetitive, it really is repetitive i.e. the same dialogs, actions and scenes.
• Lousy casts... None of the guys are gals featured were good looking... they are worst than your average Joe on the street...
  
  

But the next movie that we watched was called "200 Pounds Beauty". Now THIS movie is totally different from the first one... This movie deserves a POSITIVE 10 star rating! And the reasons are simple:

• Super cute lead actor and super pretty lead actress
• Superb soundtracks
• Simple plot

Hanna is a lip sync vocalist for Ammy, the famous Korean pop singer. Though Hanna is always ignored due to her appearance, she has always been a bright and happy girl until Ammy humiliated her in front of Sang-jun, the one she secretly admired. Finally, she made a life-changing decision: to have a major cosmetic surgery.

I got up at about 11-ish this morning. Today is supposed to be a carefree day to bum around and do nothing. But I got an SMS from my boss stating that he needs the update on XXX to be sent tomorrow morning! Sigh... great!

So after brunch with my family, I spent the following few hours in front of my laptop... I initially intended to start working on the update but I was rather upset that my work is eating into my leisure time and therefore, instead working on it right away, I procrastinated and ended up browsing like over hundreds of sites...

It's raining now and the air-cond is on full blast... think I'd take a nap!
